Bacillus thuringiensis (Bt) is a naturally occurring, soil-dwelling bacterium widely used as a biological insecticide to control a variety of insect pests. Bt-based insecticides are eco-friendly, target-specific, and safe for humans, animals, and beneficial insects. They are commonly used in organic farming and household gardens.

Active Ingredients
Bacillus thuringiensis Serovar Kurstaki 0.5% WP

Target Pests
Primarily controls lepidopteran (caterpillars), dipteran (flies), and coleopteran (beetles) pests. Common targets include: Caterpillars (e.g., diamondback moth, cabbage looper) Armyworms Leaf rollers Mosquito larvae

Application/Dosage
1-2 g per liter of water.

Mode of Action

The insect ingests the Bt spores and crystal proteins through treated plants or surfaces.
The Bt toxin binds to specific receptors in the midgut of susceptible insects, creating pores in the gut wall.
This disrupts the insect's digestive system, leading to paralysis of the gut, cessation of feeding, and death by septicemia.
